So This is what happens when when mom sleeps in and Dad is gone. My first response might have been "clean this mess up" but then remebered doing the same crazy microwave experements myself when I was a kid. I felt grateful to have shared in a childhood experience that brought back my own childhood memories. As I brought out the camera It was even more fulfilling to see what pride they took in their creations. I am grateful for parents that where either very unaware of the messes we made in the kitchen or very patient I think a little of both.

Bruce did a little trick or treating with Anna Alyssa and Dad until the girls where fed up with waiting for him at every house. So I got to have a buddy with me to hand out candy. He was so much fun to hang out with for the night. My favorite was the way he wanted to give everyone extra candy and yell good buys "see ya guys!" in what I call -his tough boy voice. Everyone had a good night and the weather was so nice.

The whole family is really looking forward to the new arrival. We do not know if it will be a boy or girl but here are a few guesses.

Brigham- girl, light brown hair, blue eyes

We are looking forward to meeting this new member of our family. What ever it may be. It will surely be very very loved.

This was a really fun night. We actually started our night with a piano recital at a Rest Home. We played our piano pieces we had been practicing, while the residents ate dinner. This was Brighams first piano Recital I was very proud of them both. I don't know how well the residents could hear the piano from 50 feet away but I know they loved see the kids and getting a Valentine card. Good friends invited us to go ice skating with them. What a great idea. We are so Blessed to have good friends to do fun things with at a moments notice.

Alyssa was surprised when dad drove to her to a restaurant in the morning instead of to school. She was so worried that she was going to be late and even more worried that mom had forgotten her Birthday treats. Meanwhile I was picking up friends, balloons and YES! treats for celebrating at school. I met her at the door and all she was thinking was - "did you buy my treats!" and "Am I going to be late for school?" We eased her mind that it was still very early and then had a Birthday Breakfast.

Ashley loves being here with us. Some day soon, I will be sad when she thinks she is too cool for one of Moms field trips. I guess I will just have to drag her along. I love spending time with her.

Alyssa and I went to the Botanical Center. It was so nice to be some where sun could shine on us and actually feel the warmth of it too. I have been volunteering at the botanical center to complete my 40 hrs of service and recieve my Master Gardeners certificate. This was truely a great day we worked hard pulling weeds in the green house, made Valintines card for each other, took pictures, fed the fish and had lunch in the little resturant there. Anyone that needs a little pick me up during the month of Febuary I would definatly recomend a date to the Botanical Center It was just what the doctor ordered and know have a middle child that feels loved (most of the time.) In April I will have my own display in the Show House featuring the book" Brown Bear Brown Bear what do you see?"

Forever Flu

I've had enough! last night when yet another one of the kids got sick with the stomach flu I gripped -with alot of emotion. " I hate the flu!!!" I don't think we have ever had it this bad. last night it didn't seem like I could take anymore. So someone must have been listening because I am obviously blogging about it and not catching throw up. It dose look like we are at the tail end of things now and things are looking brighter. Some funny things I would like to remember besides how tired and gross we all where.

#1 Every time Anna threw up she would say- and it never lost its cuteness even 5 or 6 times " That's! the grosses thing ever!!-This just made me giggle inside instead of cry out loud

#2 I would like to remember how sweet Jason was to the kids. After the 3rd or 4th wake up I really didn't hear the the kids get up. Usually I hear everything and Jason hears nothing. I am so glad he didn't give me the gentle nudge "Its your turn" that I have so often given to him.

#3 Ashley's throw up loosened her tooth so it came out easily but then threw up blood from swallowing so much blood.

#4 Alyssa and myself where the only ones not to get sick. ( crossing our fingers) Moms cant get sick right?

#5 Ashley cried to me " why did you ever have kids??" I was surprised I thought it was because she felt sorry for me and all the clean up I have been doing. I told her " I love taking care of my

kids even when there sick" But what she was really referring to is the many times she has seen me nauseous in pregnancy. I am glad she has this new found appreciation for me. I told her I was still glad to do it even thought she was the one that made me the sickest.

#6 Jason still insists that he just had food poisoning for 2 days (he's not a doctor nor dose he face the facts when the rest of the family catches the "food poisoning"

#7 My sister and both her kids get it. She's mad because She still remembers the time. Alyssa Anna Bruce and I visit SLC and every one gets sick but me. ( Boy! I'm askin for it aren't I)

#8 How cute the kids look in there footie Pajamas. This makes me wonder how many time will I get to see all my kids on normal school day at home. I will cherish this moment. I am glad they are home with me.

#9 Before finishing this blog post - Alyssa threw up ( in a crowded quilting store) they did say "we'll call you !" so as to not make us stop in again looking for the fabric.

Homemade Gifts -Christmas Eve Night

A new Christmas tradition is born~
Alyssa gave Ashley a homemade Christmas table cloth with all of our family's hand prints. Anna gave Kenna pot holders to match her apron we gave her for Christmas.

Bruce was just as happy when he got to put his hand and feet in paint to make Anna's " BRUCE THE MOOSE LOVES ME! " shirt - you might be wondering... no he is not happy in this picture.

We had so much fun making homemade gifts this year we sent cookbooks and aprons to family. These cute girls loved them so I decided they needed there own aprons too.

Brig was so excited to make this for his dad. Ashley and I Brainstormed with him on what to make. But in the end this was all his idea. He was very proud.

Ashleys gift was incredible!! Unlike everyone Else she started preparing her home made gift the day we drew names (in October). She worked many hours on this " Easton the Builder" book. It was the cutest story, complete with family pictures in place of the characters in the story.

Yeah! the best gift of all - He did it! Jason had drawn my name and immediately tried to get out of it not because he is not madly in love with me and wanted to spoil me rotten for Christmas. I was just not so sure how much he liked the idea of homemade gifts. He was very sneaky and lead me to believe even on Christmas eve day he had still not made a gift. I was so happy with the calender and weekly planner( complete with family and friends Birthdays). I cant believe he found the time for such a project in this busy month. Boy I sure am lucky to be loved so much.

Tenille gave Alyssa a very cute hat, glove, and scarf set along with Kennas matching snow suit and coat. Alyssa loves her new gear. Ashley reports that Alyssa lay in bed that special Christmas Eve night in ah of how well Tenille can knit. No one has the heart tell her Tenille ran out of the " Homemade making" time. It was such a nice gift and so thoughtful.

Brig really wanted one too! Brigham loves to cook with me. We decided one night his specialty is breakfast foods since Ashley has the desserts and pastries covered.

Yeah! I can see it soon, the day they all have their own dinner night.

now if only I can convince them how much fun dishes are.

Ginger Bread Houses

This is one of the seven Ginger bread houses that we made for teachers and for our own home three however did not survive. Better luck next year. - I will cook them longer! I really enjoyed making these with friends and family even Ashley got to make her own house this year! She loved giving this to her teacher the day after Thanksgiving break.

Trip to Lake Charles, Louisiana

This was such a fun time for Jason and I too spend together. Jason surprised me on our 12th anniversary with plane tickets and hotel stay in Kansas city.- Actually he had told me a little earlier while under the effects of anastesia. Which reminds me. I have the sweetest husband. He was so happy to tell me while at the same time I could tell he was mad at himself for letting out his secret. I anxiously waited for our anniversary to come and he followed through on his promises. I just had to wait a few more weeks. Jason made all the arrangements including help with the kids. My only regret was when I realized Ann Marie was only 2 weeks from her due date. ( baby pic. soon to follow) Ann Marie took Bruce and Anna for the 4 days and was so happy and willing to help out. But boy! did I feel like a jerk. Tenille took great care of Ashley, Brigham and Alyssa and all was well when we got home.

I loved loved loved the swamp!!! I will definitely take my kids there someday. Hopefully we can get the same tour guide. He was so great! He knew everything about the swamp, the names of all the plants, trees, animals he even told us how to cook up some good eat'n - Squirrel stew, turtle, rib-eye with wings (don't get caught with one of them. they're illegal!)

taking pictures here was so much fun I could have taken pictures all day. We got so close to some alligators we could have touched them. The weather was perfect.

This is really the reason we went. Clayton is the sweetest little boy! He is so long for his age. He is going to be tall like his daddy.

This is a very passive alligator. Turtles were practically climbing in his mouth. I guess he just wasn't hungry.

On Sunday we went for a ride to the Gulf Coast (which I can't say that I loved because it would be obnoxious...but I loved it). It was one of my favorite things that we did that trip. The kids will definitely be going there someday.We also stopped at a park or walking trail along the side of the road. Justin had been there before so had planned to bring raw chicken to feed the alligators. So here we are walking around a swamp/trail with raw chicken in our hands. My brother has always had great judgment (still does), so I trusted him. Not to say that I was scared to death and made Jason walk in between me and the tall grasses. (that also had alligator trails/ paths in them.) We walked around the two mile walking trail and then found this one a couple yards from our car.

The food was amazing enough said.

Brillant Toncils

I was so proud of this girl for trying the fishing thing. She has real issues with killing a worm and possibly hurting a fish. But once she got the casting down she seemed to forget all the other horrible thing that might happen - like catching a fish. Brigham found this cicada coming out of its exoskeleton one night I'm taking a little class called the Master Gardener's class out of a Iowa State Extension center. My Sweet Husband thought I would like to do this. First Because he knows I love gardening and Second he wanted me to have some time away from home. Now that the books have been thrown in my direction I think I am so smart and come every Tuesday night telling him every thing we need to do with our lawn, garden, punning, disease prevention, rodent control. ect ect. All these thing just take time and we definitely don't feel like we have that. Some day I will have the time I need and will be glad I started my learning know. However I will find the time to kill grubs this spring. This is a "annual" cicada we still have 5 more yrs till the "17 yr. cicadas" come up from under the ground. This class has been a lot of fun. I've really enjoyed the bigger garden this year and Jason would agree That he should always listen to me when I ask for something like a bigger garden especially when all it involves is cutting down a big "dead" pine tree and tilling another 15x20 sq feet. I really wish I could just save him some energy by letting him no that arguing is such a waste of time. Jason really did not want to make the extra garden space. However I am pleased to say that he has enjoyed the garden so much he tells me all the time how right I was to begin with.

I thought the the tree stump or Lily pad mad a great place for the frog to sit.

The garden has made lots of happy moments and Yummy dinners this summer.

You can thank me latter for posting without pictures. I want to say, Alyssa is so cute when she is sick. Almost hyped up by the attention or new experience. While reading to the girls. Alyssa jumps up and says O' WOW!! with a smile. She really has no idea what just happened. Latter she describes them as "poop squirts". I sent her up to change her pants time after time. She still dose not seem to mind. She says "we really should buy gold underwear". O course we know why. What a thoughtful little girl. Her enthusiasm dose not end. Latter that day she comes to me and says "Hey mom I have to show you something!" A walk up stairs and I realize I should be paying way more attention to this happy but very sick little girl. This is were you get to picture it yourself. Poop and throw up twice on the carpet, three times on the bathroom floor, sink, bathtub, and once (maybe) in the toilet. Not to mention Carter helping with clean up. Still Alyssa is happy, apologetic and very sweet. She follows me down stairs and watches me put all the laundry in the wash. "Mom!! You are such a good Mother!!! " Thanks Alyssa!"- she know feels more comfortable watching tv with a bowl to sit in. (her idea) I know I'm gross but cant help blogging about it.

Later that day: did you make it? Yes, and I'm staying here all day!

poor Alyssa, It is Thursday! so I guess we do get to do what ever we want. Staying home sounds nice.

1st Hair cut

I don't like to have regrets but I do wish I would have gone some where to get this little boy a haircut. I would have loved taking pictures the whole time. I also wish there was a little bit more hair than I left him with. I guess It will grow, But it will never be the same baby hair. I think he has Jason and Brigham's coarse and thick hair.

Coopers Birthday/ Saying good buy

Boy are we are going to miss the Youngmans. They have been great friends. We got together the night before they left and celebrated Coopers 1st Birthday. This event made it all the more bitter sweet and we were able to remember this past year we have had with them and remembering the arrival of this special boy into there family. Thursdays are my favorite! I don't "have too" go or do anything so this is the day we like to use our imagination and we "get too" do what ever. I put my pictures in backwards so this is the end of the day.

We actually had a few minute to put the seat together and make sure everything fits. Bruce has probably been big enough for this car seat for a long time. We followed the rules so he is now 1 yr. and 13 lb. over the recommended weight for a front facing car seat. yes that means he is 33lb!!

This cute little pioneer girl made this bonette all by herself. She also took great pride in packing a lunch just like a pioneer would have too. We had a hard time keeping the mini loaf of wheat bread covered. Heaven forbid our wheat bread dry out. So we used scotch tape to keep the wrap from comming off- shh! dont tell the teacher. This is a very strict class. I was sent to the dunce corner when I talked to another parent. The kids loved it!! I guess it was worth it

This is one of my new tricks. I try to stand up without holding on to anything. I fall but its still worth the try.

Spring breaking it! with the Katchers!

I'm glad the Katchers could come over today. I actually got some blogging done while Bruce took a nap. This week has been a lot of fun. The highlight for the kids would be friends, Chuck-E-Cheese, campfire or a movie. Mine would be sleeping in and finding the kitchen benches I've been looking for for months. They fit more little bodies around the table and take up less space in the kitchen. We put them to the test when the Katcher kids and Giles kids all fit around my table with no trouble. And of course my favorite would be seeing these little angels more. With the option of sending them outside in the beautiful weather.

I surprised Jason with a little surprise party. It just so happened that Jason's Birthday fell on a Monday. Kids eat for a $1 on Monday at Maxie's. Boy did they get a wild crowd for dinner that night. With a lot of kids I might add. They were great sports and so was Jason.

Brigham's Birthday was so fun.We had a family party. Brigham wanted sesame chicken and Oreo fluff for his Birthday dinner. We put candles in the Oreo fluff and sang happy Birthday. I was so glad I got away without baking ( another) cake. - see later blog.

Cousin Drew

Here we are at the duck pond with cousin Drew. We had Drew for a week while his mom and dad were looking for a new home in Southern Utah. Drew fit in really well with the rest of the bunch. He is a great kid, so easy going. We had a hard time parting with him though. We especially had a hard time separating all the socks, shoes, underwear etc. from the rest of ours. It really is a process to have all the laundry in the whole house cleaned, separated and in the right drawers. I'm afraid we still have some underwear. Which reminds me, if anyone knows what happened to his missing shoes as we picked up some lookalikes that we would love to give back to the rightful owners.

Its been an exciting time around her we love Birthdays in the spring!!! So much that we have attempted to make everyone in our families Birthday be between the months of Feb- May. (sarcasm) hee hee! It goes like this, if I remember right Alyssa's Feb. 11th, Jason's Feb. 23rd, Brigham's March 4th, Bruces March 24th and finally Anna's May 23rd. Ok maybe your still not that impressed But I sure do feel like it is alot of cake baking. Ashley however dose not feel this do be such a big deal and seems to always convince me the the school carnival needs more cakes for the cake walk witch seems to always be the last week of febuary. O boy am I crazy! but sure I would love to make 7 cakes for the cake walk. Ashley you sure better help me or all go crazy!! Well enough about cake! Something to mention Jason and I no longer like cake. Or we will pretend for another couple of weeks. We are trying the Atkins diet and (I) am really loving it for the short time we will be doing it, later we will be much more aware of how much of what we are putting into are bodies. Notice I put parentheses around (i) Jason dose not feel that great energy boost I have felt. And is almost crying every night for girl scout cookies. I do have to say - "Really bad timing on the GS cookies!" I hope all my friend are happy and healthy out there in the blogging world. I will be looking around to see whats going on in your lives. If anyone has any high protein dinner ideas I would love to hear them.

I am making another attempt to be a blogger. Every time I get on, I am first disgusted with how long it has been since I blogged and second I wish I knew how to make my blogs cuter. Computers really drive me crazy. (If anyone wants to help me figure this out I would be so grateful I would even make them a meal to show my gratitude and amazement for this skill.) So much has happened the past few months I think I will summarize

The Harvest

The uncontrollable plant in my garden really was a pumpkin plant despite all the many unbelievers. We had at least 10 small pumpkins.

The kids had a great Halloween. Zombie, Mountain Man, Butterfly, Ladybug, and Frog. Thank you Sharon P for introducing me to the best Apple Cider ever.

The house is under construction! New carpet and a small house fire the same day!!

Great job Jason and Zack on the crown molding and wanescoating!!

The heirloom tomatoes were beautiful, but somehow the black and purple tomatoes never really reached the taste buds.

Thanksgiving was so nice to have Doug and Courtney over for dinner (along with some other dear friends). They will not be here next year. They will be graduating and living somewhere in west. We have really been blessed to have them here for the past few years.

My mom and dad came for a surprise visit a few days after thanks giving. ( They love ME) Unfortunately they were called with bad news. My mom's mom (my grandma) had a stroke. We rushed my mom back on a plane and at the last minute I decided to get in the car with my dad. I packed pretty good for a 15 min job. Unfortunately, not all the bags made it to the car as we left behind the one with diapers and all of Bruce's clothes. Thanks to my sister Tenille and sister-in-law Autumn we survived that mishap.

My Grandma passed away. I was able to be there with my mom and then I knew I was where I wanted to be. I missed and worried about Brigham, Ashley and Jason very much and felt so blessed to hear that about all of the friends in Iowa that were showing so much love to my family.

Grandma will be missed. She was so full of love. She loved everyone. That is what I will miss the most. She was such an amazing woman. I am happy to think of her with her family in the Eternities. I am so glad that I know she is with her Heavenly Father, brothers and sisters. She had such a great life and so many that loved her.

Everyone in Utah gets the stomach flu ( except Tenille and I) and I'm scared I'm next. Scared to get on my 28 hr. ride home.

The train was and adventure (and no one got sick). I won't do it again until the kids are older, but still would love to do it again someday. I would especially love to ride the train with my sweetheart some day.

Jason has the stomach flu. He says I brought it home from Utah.

We relaxed by the fire and watched Christmas movies. This is the first Christmas moment with the whole family. Dec.14th

I want to leave the tree up for at least 3 more weeks.

The Wedding

The Wedding was beautiful. My sister was even more beautiful. This was a great day for Todd and Traci unfortunately It wasn't one of my best days. I came down with Mastitis again. It was the 5th time while nursing Bruce so I decided to give it up. Bruce Is a "bottle baby" now and happy as ever but now has an ear infection, probably from the travel and maybe the switch to bottles. This is definitely a sleepin', eatin', growin' kid. I have never had a baby sleep so much at this age. Here are some pictures of my cute nieces and nephews at the wedding.

Responsibilities are for grown ups. Oh yeah, we are grown ups.

Coming back was quite the drive. Longer than it has ever taken us at 18+ hrs. Poor Jason. We took extra time in Logan with shopping and driving by our old house by the college then went on to bear lake where we got to join a cattle drive 1/2 way there. We stopped again to get raspberry shakes and lunch. So we really didn't get going till after 2pm. The drive back is always harder but I think this time it seemed a little bit more overwhelming to come back to our lives. I think Jason is still very humbled to be Bishop of our ward. I also felt the pressure of jumping right back into things as Ashley and Brigham had a Western Hills (Clegg Park) open house the very day we came into town and the first day of school was the next day. Unfortunately I was so prepared that I had ordered school supplies and then forgot so I also bought school supplies. In Iowa, school supplies are big deal. I could have saved myself a $100. I will have 4 kids in school next week when Alyssa and Anna start preschool. The plan is that Bruce and I will spend some time at the YMCA. I also signed the girls up for Tumble Tots. Ashley is doing Cello and Piano. I told her no! she can not play the clarinet too. Brigham is starting flag football. So it looks like I am saying good bye to lazy summer days and sleeping in. At last we are home and its been a week+ It also feels so good to be home and find a little routine that works. O yeah this is the kids on their first day of school. being silly. Thank goodness they weren't as tired as I felt. One of the things I did when we got home besides sleep and unpack was to make crab apple jelly. Thanks Becky for the great idea. I found a recipe on the Internet and it turned out great.

The Thomas Cabin

This is the cabin that is full of memories and can be filled with tons of people. Its looks are deceiving this is a huge cabin. Growing up, my grandma, grandpa, their 7 kids and all of their kids would gather together. Tere are at least 11 Queen beds, and 8 twin beds. It was so nice to see this place again. one last picture out the window of the car as we head out.

This is the cabin I grew up going to for lots of vacation time with the cousins. Some of my greatest memories as a kid where enjoyed here. Running up and down the creek, making huts under the large pine trees, eating grandma's rice crispy treats, (that still stands alone), playing in the attic, four wheeling, catching chipmunks with left over "cabin breakfast"(basically anything your heart could desire that tastes good in the morning) digging through the snow, snow flakes an inch around. One tradition that I would like to take credit for, however many brothers sisters and cousin would like to say they made up, is the Fairy Gardens or Fairy Homes. This is a tradition I believe I started and was so excited to share it with my kids when we got there. I also enjoyed spending time at the creek. One of the things I enjoyed the most yet again involved taking pictures going for four wheeling ride with Justin and Stephanie. Taking pictures is a love most of the family shares. So here we are taking pictures of the Buck, wild flowers each other, Justin even teased me because I took a picture of a cool rock. The cabin was so nice to visit. Playing games until after midnight is also a must at the cabin. Or your considered a party pooper. I felt like I got to know my bother Jeff all over again after midnight, he was so silly.

Fun in Idaho

We had such a great trip. We had a few days alone with Grandma and Grandpa which was really nice. We made chokecherry jelly, made a horse shoe pit, and Grandpa even bought a big swimming pool for all the grand kids. Then the party really started. First Bill and Georgia Hancock and their kids came up for dinner and a good visit. And over the next day or two we added 10 more people to the household. We celebrated our cousin Quentin's baby blessing and had even more family come visit. It was so nice to see everyone. My-oh-my it was beautiful on Grandma and Grandpa's Mountain. I love taking pictures especially by the beautiful waterfall and pond Grandpa built. We didn't need swim suites to enjoy the coolness of the water Even Bruce and I waded in minutes after getting out of the car. Brigham spent the most time of all being out doors, playing in the dirt, four wheeling and swimming in the pond or pool. This kid had always been happiest when he is outdoors.Thanks Matt and Anne Marie for letting me take some pictures of you two you are such a good looking couple and very much in love. Again I love taking pictures and being in such a beautiful place really brings it out in me. I hope you don't mind I posted them. Bruce Just went to his 4 mo. check up where he weighed in at 19 lb. 4 oz and an amazing 28 inches He is a lovable big boy. One concern I had was the way his head was shaped in the back. Doc. Stoll assured me it was a sign of good brain development. So a proud daddy interrupts it as his brain is so big and smart it needs to bulge out the back a little. Humh! It makes me happy just to know its something not to worry about. The other concern I had was that he poops once or twice in a two week period. This can make for extremely overwhelming diaper changes WHEN they do come. But also tells us that his body is absorbing everything it possibly can and uses it for growing. yeah for saving a few baby wipes. boo! it usually demolishes a baby outfit once or twice a mo. One more thing- yeah Bruce you have two teeth! good work buddy!

The group said good buy as they ate, played, and giggled with ice cream. They committed to meet again at BYU Idaho for collage. This would have been an extremely hard day. (yet it was still was) if we hadn't had plans to see the Hancock's while visiting Idaho in two weeks. Tomorrow we take off to Utah where my sister Traci is getting married To a wonderful man named Todd. We then will go up to Idaho where Jason's sister Jessica and husband Chance are blessing there baby. "Slippery and Sticky"

There called "Lilly Pads" and they are silicon breast pads for nursing.They are "Slippery" because they have a way of running away from me and "Sticky" because of the funny places we have found them hiding. The fist time they ran away from me I laid them down on the bed while I was feeding Bruce Ashley came and laid down by us. They suctioned to her in the funniest places. As she was walking away I noticed them and got quiet the laugh. Ashley too! The next time I lost one I was so desperate to find it because I felt it might be a hazard to my Bruce if it was lost in one of his blankets. I put out the reward ( the big 1$ bill) for who ever found it. The lilly pad was soon found suctioned to the fridge door. That made me laugh even harder. They are now kept under a very watchful eye. Hopefully the kids interest has peeked and it is now just a boring squishy stick thing they don't care much about any more.

The competition was intense 4 couples 1 secret ingredient- PASTA! Matt and Ann Marie pulled off the win with this yummy desert. Manicotti pasta, natella, mango, kiwi, strawberry, whip cream and I forgot if those where nuts on top. Even if I am a little disappointed I didn't win. I can say, "they really deserved it. It sure was yummy!! "

O yes! that is my cute little nephew Quinten. ( Sorry if I spelled it wrong Jessica) Thank you so much Jessica Chance Mom and Dad for coming so far to celebrate Bruce's Blessing Day with us.

Ashley and Kayla have been such good friends. They are always good for a laugh. They can be silly at moments notice when they are together.

Anna and Alyssa love their bath together. They love to take the My little ponies in with them. They play as well as fight together. lately they are always arguing on who will get their hair washed first. No one likes to get their hair washed! At least when mom decides to pick her fight they always have each other and they are best friends. It looks like they won. I don't think anyone got their hair washed this time.

At Bruce's 2 month and 2 weeks check up he was 16 lbs 6 oz. 26 and1/4 inches long. I put in this picture of Bruce's toes 1- because I love baby toes and 2- It makes think that he might cross his big toe and 2nd toe like his dad and brother do. It's like someone twiddling their thumbs. just with the toes instead. Jason dose this while he reads. I found that Brigham dose this too while he was just walking around the house barefoot one day. I don't know how someone decides to cross their toes while there walking this seems to me like it would hurt. Jason has admitted however that he dose it too under his shoes.

This year we planted a rose bush for each of the kids. Hear they are! We hope to see them bloom this summer. All the girls have a different shade of pink Brigham has a yellow rose bush named- Kings Ransom (whitch he thinks is pretty cool) and Bruce has a orange colored rose. As you can tell all my kids have no choice but to love the outdoors like their mama. I also have them pulling weeds in the garden, Im sure they would not exactly say this is a love of theirs but they will be proud to see the fruits of their labors soon when things besides weeds start to grow.

Brigham has really loved baseball this year and has loved having dad as a coach. There team is actually really good! - o'but remember the days we where spinning in the outfield, looking for bugs or totally looking who knows where!?! Pee wee baseball is the greatest! Dad took the day off work to spend the first day of summer vacation with the kids. We had a great time at the zoo and then went to our favorite restaurant El Rodeo. Alyssa loves to be outdoors. Her favorite things to do are taking the ponies and barbies outside to play and swim out doors.

Ashley is coming the end of the school year, she just had her last cello performance last week, last singing performance with the 4th grade, and is looking forward to all the fun activities that come with the last weeks of school. Ashley is a very responsible kid she is looking forward to reading this summer so her mind won't turn to mush over the summer. She wants to let everyone know that "your child can lose up to 2 months of learning in the summer so call Sylvan Learning Center today!" - you must be 18 yrs. of age or older to call. She is helping me blog by the way and YES we need to cut back on TV again. She knows too many commercials.

Dad says we need to get rid of cable during the summer. Easy for him to say now that basketball is almost over!

This weekend while Jason and Brigham where camping at Fathers and Sons I learned that if I knew how to change a tire I wouldn't have the muscle to do it anyway. The lug nuts where on so tight they where almost impossible for my friends husband to take them off and then we still couldn't get the tire off because it had rusted on the inside. Thank heavens for the big burly guy that came over with his sledge hammer and crow bar after we had worked on this tire for 2 hrs. I love the people of Iowa that can be so helpful and kind. After Thanking them over and over they mentioned the idea to "pay it forward." The funny thing is I heard the very same "pay it forward" from a friend that had done something very kind for me. This reminds me that I am the happiest when I can do something for someone else. Isn't it funny how that works. I cant thank everyone enough for all the little ( and Big) things that have been done for me and my family lately.

The Doctor Visit

A lazey sunday morning- 1 month

This is Bruce taking a look at 2 weeks to meet his grandma Honey.

Well this doctor visit was actually for me- Mastitis for the 3x!!! yuck!!!This time they made me come in, they didn't believe me because I was still on the antibiotic from the last time. So the more interesting part of the visit was when I stepped on the scale... No! I'm not going to tell you how much I weight! And then with Bruce. He weights... Duhn Duhn Duhn. 14 lbs 14 oz. or you could say 2 oz. shy of 15 lbs.!! So In his first 6 weeks of his life he averaged almost a pound a week. WOW! keep this up and your mommy's going to have back problems. Or really strong arms. I would love any suggestions on how to avoid this awful Mastitis. The Doc. said there really is no reason why you get it and there is really no way to avoid it. However I am desperate I will try anything.

At 6 weeks Bruce smiles. Mom Dad and even Anna sees his happy face. Anna say's "he opened his mouth at me!"

Just a few pictures of our little Bruce. If you haven't already heard he was born at a whopping 10.1 oz. Just perfect for all the little helpers to handle a little easier. Anna especially loves to hold him but only for a few minutes when she always says the same thing " He's too heavy!!" and is done holding baby Bruce for the time being. We have dad home from work this week and that has been lots of help. We will pray for good weather for now while mom tries to get back to 100% It makes such a difference in everyones mood when we can get out and see sun shine. Brigham ironically came down with strep throat the day we came home from the hospital but is doing well know. We are looking forward to Grandma Honeys visit. We feel so blessed with all the friends and family around that have helped out while we have come home or have been in the hospital. We are also so grateful for our healthy baby Bruce. We love him so much! It seems more and more every day.

Ashley has been practicing for "Festival" , a piano competition for 2 mo. now. She did so well she was really nervous but from what I can tell she played both songs perfectly. Unfortunately Dad was unable to hear her wonderful performance. Dad had to stay out in the hall with Anna since she was still so mad from getting her hair done that morning. She cried for a hour straight. The funny thing that we can remember is that Dad and Anna where asked to leave the building or in other words "kicked out!" - This was the price we will pay for doing our daughters hair. Ashley received the highest award for the competition. Great Job Ashley! We decided to celebrate by going to see the movie "Spider Wick Chronicles" Dad and the kids have been reading the books at night. It sounded like a great idea. I was well aware that it was my turn, if the girls needed to go out during the movie. Luckily for me they where scared to death the entire movie and did not budge from there seats - it was a very intense and successful movie outing. Even though they really enjoyed this movie I cant say I would recommend it to young kids.

ITS SPRING!!

That day was so fun we really lived it up We went out to lunch with spring like temperatures. The next day while all the snow had melted I woke up and shaved my legs and wore sandals to church this really didn't seem so ridiculous at the time. until it snowed 6 inches that night. So we're back to winter. Again. I'm still glad to announce that it is March!!! This means we should be able to meet this little man (our baby) Bruce in the next 4 weeks or so. Yesterday I cried happy tears in church I am so happy to have a family. And as you can tell the happy feelings of 1 or 2 days of spring have really taken over.

This is me, formal and pregnant! Jason and I where able to attend Nyemasters 90th Birthday. I was not thrilled to buy a formal maternity dress so this is how I fancied up a black church dress. Jason looked great in his tux. Thanks to Kristy I felt pretty in a little hair updo. I also bought some new shoes Jason seemed to be crazy over. Jason makes me feel so beautiful when I'm pregnant. At least when It is all over I'll still have High heels to get his attention. It was a really fun night.

Brigham got a bead stuck on his tooth- both mom and dad yanked and yanked. This delayed bed time and prayers. With lots of laughs mom ran for her camera and dad ran for the pliers and lid gripper. When we got back it had fallen out on its own. Brigham laughed with relief that pliers where not going into his mouth. Too funny! don't you think we should all write down the times our kids stick something in there noses, ears ect. I think these are the things that make being in a family so fun.

Jason had a Birthday March 23rd!! It was also the same day as the school carnival. Something in my brain told me It would be just as easy to make five cakes as it would be to make one so I volunteered to make some cakes for our school cake walk. That was some idea!! and IF I do this again next year ( in the mist of Alyssa's, Jason's, Bruce's and Anna's Birthday. ) I will simplify these cakes drastically. This really took a whole 3 days while I baked on Thursday, decorated 2 cakes Friday and 3 more Saturday morning. While I did feel some sense of pride in my work and accomplishment. The more prominent thought was - What in the heck was I thinking!!!. So what was really important was that Jason had a great Birthday. He was the only winner in our family at the school carnival. He won a cake on the cake walk and won a nice Valley Shirt and hat in the Raffle. He also was given a very nice Sesame Street T-shirt from Zack and Meridith (that he wears every weekend now) I did forget to get a picture of, but will easily be able to get one soon. Zack and Meridith also gave him some "farty" puddy. This has given the family many hours of entertainment. We even made a game of it and kept score. Who knows how those Giles kids will turn out. We played sing star that night and celebrated our 32 yr. old all around fun guy.

Alyssa also wants hers to have yarn like Ashley's and Anna's so I either need to break down and tie yarn where there really dosent need any. Or I might make another tie quilt. The blue and purple Hannah Montana quilt is Ashleys, Camo frogs is Brighams, green and pink frogs with kissy lips is Alyssas, bees and flowers is Annas and Bruce has the baby Seasame Street caracters.

I feel so tired lately and still have 2 mo. to go. I'm really trying to stay positive and not feel guilty for lacking the desire to do a lot for the kids. So If I may, I'm trying to make myself better. My kids are more independent than ever. Ashley has learned to serve her bother and sisters with such compassion. Brigham is even following in her foot steps. Alyssa and Anna are learning Spanish from "Dora" and all their letters and sounds from "Leap Frog". I have even found a new love for Quilting if you read earlier You would know I had my doubts about the whole project of making baby Bruce a baby quilt. I finished it with such pride and a sense of accomplishment I went crazy and bought material to make all the kids a blanket. I am just finishing Anna's and then I will post pictures. This makes me feel good to be giving them something while I sit and enjoy this project. This also seems important to past the time in the middle of winter. I am really looking forward to more sunshine. In the coming mo. So Besides from feeling and looking like this should be the end of the pregnancy. I still have some time. And I need to practice patience with myself and the calender. At least this is everything I need to tell myself.

Ashely is taking cello lessons at school and seems to really like it. At the concert all the kids had their songs memorized. I was so impressed we really have a good program going for us at the school the orchestra teacher is so good with the kids and plays the cello herself so it seems the 3 cellist at western hills really lucked out. she also teaches the violins and bass at Western hills. There was at least 150 kids when they combined the 4 schools and they actually sounded really good. Notice Ashely has the smallest cello Its a 1/2 size. I have faith she wont always be one of the smallest kids in her grade. I'm actually glad she did not follow my own growth pattern or she would already be 5'8 and very awkward. If you ask me she's just darn cute!

Tender and Tough

Its been along time since Ive updated.. so this is whats been going on. Brigham likes wrestling 1/2 the time. He is such a cute guy and tender too. At his first meet He was worked over! In other words, beat really bad and pinned in 3 sec. (maybe a record) But we where so proud of him for doing it when he was so nerves. The second meet he did much better and wrestled the coaches son. still lost, but that didn't mean anything and we all went out for ice cream. The best part of this story is the next time at practice he learned a thing or two and but the same kid in a half-nelson. And had a lot of fun beating up on the other guy for a change. We are so proud him for all that he dose and works hard at. I really wish he could stay this age forever. He loves his mommy so much. I don't know how I could be so blessed.

Dad entertains us by letting his friends throw marshmallow's into his mouth. I think one of his New Years Resolutions this year is to not get old.

This year we went all out with a chocolate fountain. Latter that night we had friends and many more sticky faces to share the fun with. I really missed out by not taking pictures later that night.
